Emmy-winning Journalist, author and Latinx activist, Paola Ramos joins the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice in-person for an engaging conversation on the electoral and organizing power of Latinos.

Ramos will discuss the rise of far-right perspectives within Latino communities that influenced the 2024 presidential election and how they are shaping the future of America, prominent themes from her recent book, Defectors.

Together we will explore the debates around the inclusive term “Latinx,” and what it reveals about the diversity within Latino identities.

MRISJ thanks Santander Bank for their generous support of our Civic Speaker Series as well as our co-sponsors the Division of Student Success, Equity and Diversity (SSED) and Community Engaged Teaching and Service (CETS).

This event is is one of the signature events commemorating Bridgewater State University’s 185th anniversary and is open and accessible to all members of the BSU campus community.
