MRISJ and the Department of Criminal Justice invite folks to join us for a special Civic Speaker Series event on Thursday, March 31 from 12:30-1:45pm.

This special discussion on prison abolition in Massachusetts will include BSU faculty, staff and student panelists along with the co-director of Families for Justice as Healing, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the incarceration of women and girls.

Panelists will discuss the stated purposes of incarceration, what’s actually experienced and accomplished by it, consider the important factors related to the incarceration of women and girls, and weigh in on the plan for the proposed new $360 million women’s prison in MA.

Register now: https://cglink.me/2j8/r1940616

This campus event is open and accessible to all members of the campus community.

MRISJ thanks Santander Bank for their generous support of our Civic Speaker Series.
