The DGLP invites you to attend
a career mentorship event on Thursday, April 10 from 3:25 to 4:40 PM in
the DMF120 Auditorium. Food will be served.
Tiana
Jurisic, a BSU alumna of the
Political Science department, will be speaking to students about her post-BSU
academic and career experiences, focusing on public sector careers,
international pathways, and graduate school.
See below for the speaker's bio:
A native of Boston, Tiana Jurisic has more than five years of experience conducting Community Health Needs Assessments across
diverse refugee and immigrant communities in an urban setting. While an
undergraduate student at Bridgewater State University, she received an Erasmus
Grant in 2018 and spent a year studying abroad at Manchester Metropolitan
University in Manchester, England, where she fell in love with public health.
She completed her MPH Practicum with an NGO in Molepolole, Botswana through the
University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Tiana interned at the United Nations Human
Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, where she became fascinated with the
role that NGOs play and thus wanted to combine her interdisciplinary
educational background with the intersection of politics and health policy. As
a PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she taught
Global Health, which is her passion. Tiana hopes to focus her dissertation on
the role NGOs play in protecting humanitarian corridors.
We hope to see some of your students at this
event
