Event Details - She Stoops to Conquer

 Comedy, romance, and mistaken identity abound in She Stoops to Conquer at Bridgewater State University as it satirizes materialism, love, and social etiquette! Performances begin October 24th – 26th and continue October 29th – November 1st. Performances are held in the Rondileau Student Union Auditorium, 19 Park Avenue, Bridgewater, MA. In the company of barmaids, wealthy Young Marlow is a dashing rogue, but in the presence of the beautiful Lady Kate Hardcastle, he is an anxious, sputtering fool. Before deciding to marry him, Kate "stoops" below her station and disguises herself as a maid to charm Marlow and understand how he truly behaves outside the presence of the upper class. Meanwhile, Kate’s mischievous stepbrother sets his own game of deception into motion, playing tricks on his overly dramatic mother and old-fashioned stepfather to secure his fortune without needing to marry.

A sensory-friendly performance will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00PM. Sensory-friendly performances are theater productions welcoming individuals with sensory needs. The show is modified to allow for patron movement, staff and actors are trained to accommodate patron needs, and all patrons are welcome to experience theater in a safe, receptive environment.
